Meena Venkataramanan, a member of Governor Ducey’s Youth Commission and chair of the Substance Abuse Committee, has been selected as a delegate to the 55th annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) in Washington D.C.

Meena, a senior from Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson, was chosen from over 80 outstanding Arizona high school applicants to be a member of the group of 104 student delegates. Each year this extremely competitive merit-based program brings the most outstanding high school juniors and seniors to Washington, D.C. for an intensive week-long study of the federal government, which will be held March 4-11, 2017. The Hearst Foundations provide each student with transportation and all expenses, as well as a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship.
